Happy New Year! Today a few other folks from Birmingham and I decided to drive an hour and a half north to ride where 35 degrees feels a lot colder than it did Saturday. Southern Carnage Bike Shop in Mooresville hosted their annual new year’s day gravel ride and pot luck, and I haven’t missed it since the first time I rode it four or five years ago.

Those that came from Birmingham rode Saturday in Chilton Co with the exact same temperatures, but it was so much colder up north. That wind had a nasty bite, but that Mooresville gravel is really pretty when the sun was shining. We got a quick thirty miles in and were glad to be done and enjoy some good food and hanging out with our friends up north.
