06/06/26 Perry Oakmulgee 66/52/28mi Gravel Ride

Rolling at 8am from Pleasant Grove Baptist #2 in Maplesville.

As of June 1st, it should be around 70 at the start, steadily increasing to 85 by 1pm. No rain is forecast and it looks to be 50% cloud cover from the start to 80% by 1pm.  Wind gusts 8pmh at start, 15 at 1, guess which way.

These routes have rougher surfaces than Clanton, and plenty of large chunk gravel here and there as well as a few notable climbs. When dry, there will be a few short sandy sections. When wet, there might be some peanut butter here and there. When hot, bug spray is highly recommended.

All 3 routes have a common first 10 miles. The 28 mile route will take a left on Holsombeck Swap road, while the 52 and 66 will stay straight until the Bethel Baptist Spigot at mile 20. From there the 52 will double back and head to Pinetucky, while the 66 will add the 14 mile Hamfork Fire Tower loop.

The 28 has a water spigot at mile 11 at Liberty Free Will Church and a store stop at G&L Grocery at mile 17. The 52 has Bethel Baptist spigot at 20 and G&L at 42. The 66 mile route has Bethel at 20, Fire Tower at 28 and G&L at 56.

Download the route you plan for and the shorter ones in case you need a bailout.
