Rolling at 8am from the parking lot behind New China Buffet, 2101 7th St S, Clanton, AL 35045.
I haven’t ridden these routes since January of last year, so don’t count on the spigot stops being 100%. We can find water if we need to, but it might be a good idea to bring extra. Bring friends, bring what you need to fix your bike and bring a spirit of adventure and a sense of humor.
This route handles well after rain and has some really nice views and panoramas. If you want to hear more about it, read the writeup from last year here, https://alabamacyclingcalendar.com/01-14-24-chiltauga-65/
The 55 mile route has a spigot at New Celeron Baptist at mi29, and another at Lifepoint Church at 36mi. There is also a DG at 48mi. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45351527
The 64 mile route also hits New Celeron at 29mi, then Lifepoint at 44.5mi. The DG will be at 57mi. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45351517
The 74 mile also hits New Celeron at 29mi, Lifepoint at 54mi and the DG at 66.5mi. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45320913
There are two loops on the Southern end of the route that make up the difference between the routes. The 74 does both, the 64 only does the first one, and the 55 skips them both. The 55 will break off of the common route at mile 35.6, where it takes a left on 24 and the other routes go right. The 64 breaks off of the 74 mile route at mile 41, where it will stay left on 77, while the 74 turns right onto 128.
