The BBC did a great job on the 50th Anniversary of the BBC100. Rest stops were very well manned. The after Ride Q by Billy Ritch of Pork N Pedals fame was excellent, and those pintos with Conecuh, mmm. Weather was great, had some heat, but low humidity. The scenery on this route is my favorite of all the Alabama Centuries, mountains, plateaus, rolling hills and valleys, and plenty of horses, cows and donkeys.
I hung with my fast friends for the first 50mi, but I hadn’t been on the road bike in a bit, and my back was killing me. I was already slowly starting to get dropped, so I pulled over and adjusted my saddle. Back was great after that. I enjoyed the last 50mi solo, and just meditated on the scenery around me. I still kept a pretty good pace. I saw my fast friends leaving the mile 70ish stop as I was pulling in.
Thanks again to the club and all the volunteers, very well done. It was a nice road family reunion today, and great catching up with so many old friends. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/mic4wqbyqrcixyus0o1i1/AL8sFRndlG9y2t0kUcPNWAc?rlkey=7qhqj4dvqdxhjmfubl1eev1t7&dl=0
