This is still on if you are interested. I am looking forward to it. Please comment to rsvp. Changed roll out to 7am. I am going to try to do the 200 in one whack, or at least make it to the forest past mile 140 and camp if needed.
Memorial Day Weekend Peach Bikepacking Trip 200/343
5/24/25, 7AM, starting from the gravel drive between Clanton Chevron and McKinnon Nissan.
I don’t have any recommendations for places to camp on this route, outside of the Oakmulgee District of Talladega National Forest, which is from mile 140 to 171 on the 200-mile route. You will need to review the route and plan accordingly.
Download the routes and get familiar with them. I did drive/ride 100% of these routes in 2024. If it rains, 80% of the gravel will be great and 20% is gonna get nasty. Bring everything you need, nutrition based on your planned stops, whatever you need to camp, stuff to fix your bike in any disaster and an adventurous spirit.
Download whichever Peach Bike Packing routes you want to ride from this link and scroll to the bottom of the pdf. https://alabamacyclingcalendar.com/routes/
The Peach Bikepacking 200 route is the shortest distance. There are 12 sub-loops that come off the master loop where all would total 343 miles. Pick your distance. Plan your stops before you start.
This is a self-supported ride. You are 100% responsible for yourself.
