Rolling at 8am from Pleasant Grove #2 Baptist Church in Maplesville. We will start in Chilton county and also pass through Bibb, Perry, Dallas, and Autauga counties.
The Mulberry Creek Beach Party Gravel routes are created around the idea of picking up snacks and refreshments at a store stop and heading to Mulberry Creek, which has a nice beach and swimming area. The 40mi route hits the beach at mi 25, 50 at mi 33, and 63 at mi 48. How cool would it be if we all met up for a beach party? All routes share a common 15mi return from the beach.
40mi Route – 85% dirt roads. Pick up snacks and refreshments at Plantersville Mini Mart at mi 23.7 to take to Mulberry Creek at mi 25. Return from the creek is 15mi. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47034224
50mi Route – 90% dirt. Runs the same as the 40mi route until mi 22 where you will turn right on CR424 to do the Mat Moore loop, before coming back to the route, making the Plantersville Mini Mart mi 32.5. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47034331
63mi Route – 85% dirt. Runs the same as the 50mi route until mi 9.7, where you will turn right on Mat Moore road to head North to do the Holsombech Creek Loop. This adds a store stop if needed at G&L Grocery mi 23, as the Plantersville Mini Mart will be mi 47 on this route. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47034234
Wider tires are recommended on these routes, as the clay ruts in many places from erosion. Some of these roads don’t need to be ridden within 2 days of heavy rain. If the weather makes this route look iffy, I’ll come up with a better Clanton option.
Bring your friends, plan your hydration, bring bug spray, bring what you need and download the routes. Cell service is spotty. You are responsible for getting you back, yet we tend to look after each other.
